Nikki Satira

Executive Director

nikki@earthpath.ca

Nikki holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a specialization in Environment & Culture and a certificate in Community Arts Practice from York University. She has been working in outdoor education for 10+ years, having spent the majority of those years working with The Pine Project in Toronto as a Lead Program Instructor and Creative Director. She has also worked with Montessori schools running nature programs, ran interpretive programs in remote Northern BC, worked with Children’s Garden in Toronto, and developed nature education programs for several non-profits.

Nikki has wanted to work in education ever since she was a child. Although she considered teacher’s college after university, she felt uninspired to work in the same educational system that failed to support and inspire her as a child growing up. When presented with her first opportunity to combine both of her passions, nature and education, while teaching using a pedagogy that inspired her; she immediately felt as though she had found her calling. Since then she has been passionate about connecting people of all ages and backgrounds to nature, with the goal of nurturing future naturalists and environmental advocates. She is also passionate about supporting the emotional, physical, and social development of children – and through her experience she has found no other environment better than nature to accomplish that.

Nikki leads Earth Path as a skilled naturalist, wilderness skills practitioner, environmental advocate, and educator. She has extensive experience in program development, curriculum development, creative direction, training educators, managing staff, and teaching wilderness and naturalist skills. Nikki is also an accomplished writer, musician, and is currently studying to become a clinical herbalist.
